Oxbow Farm and Conservation Center

Oxbow Farm and Conservation center

Oxbow Farm & Conservation Center is a nonprofit organization straddling the Snoqualmie river. The property consists of two large areas of land. The northern property (the Uplands) is a rugged Pacific Northwest second growth forest that climbs dramatically out of the river valley below. The southern property (the Lowlands) is fertile farmland sitting along an oxbow of the Snoqualmie River. Oxbow practices regenerative farming methods, restores habitat for wildlife, operates a native plant nursery, and educates people of all ages about building a resilient future.

Oxbow’s practices inspired GGN’s approach to the Vision Plan, which focuses on connecting visitors to Oxbow’s programs and the land. GGN centers all of Oxbow’s programming activities around an existing barn, positioned at the heart of Oxbow that welcomes visitors and provides orientation. As visitors move further from this heart, they experience working farmlands, lush native meadows, demonstration gardens, restoration planting, immersive trails system through second growth forest wetlands and campgrounds.
