Seattle Times: "Light-rail plan gives UW a 'front porch'"
January 12, 2011 - Today's Seattle Times features coverage of this afternoon's public presentation by GGN's Bernie Alonzo about the University of Washington's Lower Rainier Vista design.
GGN's design for extending and strengthening the historic Vista integrates dramatic views and multi-modal, active circulation between the campus and the city. The design is part of a multi-agency project for making the Montlake Triangle into a major mobility center for light-rail riders, bicyclists, pedestrians, and motorists on Montlake and Pacific Avenues.
GGN coordinated with Sound Transit's station architects, LMN, to integrate their design for a new pedestrian-bridge over Montlake Boulevard into the Vista landscape design.
