Amy Eastwood brings over 20 years of experience working in the fields of architecture and landscape architecture. Amy returns to GGN after a decade of practicing architecture in Seattle. Her love of teamwork and the inspired learning that comes from collaboration across disciplines underpins her strengths in guiding the design process and facilitating dialogue between design team members.
Amy believes in the importance of human connection with the natural environment and the responsibility of designers to enhance the relationship. She has had a longstanding fascination with how time spent out of doors, when moving between urban destinations, contributes to our mental and physical well-being, from the broader city scale down to the detailed, tactile experience of the individual. Amy explores the potential for these connecting to nature through her design investigations and application of graphic representation, model making, drafting, digital graphics, and hand-rendering.
Native to Virginia, Amy began her career studying architecture with a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Architecture from the University of Virginia. Through her graduate work and studies in the Veneto region of Italy and teaching undergraduate design studios at the University of Virginia, she developed a deep interest in urban landscapes and the potential for healthy sustainable cities
Now the proud mother of three children who have grown up exploring the many parks and trails of the Pacific Northwest, Amy is always looking for new destinations to spend time with her family out of doors. She and her husband are both makers at heart and are passionate about using what they have learned as designers to support their local community.
