Tess Schiavone excels in collaborating with diverse project teams on GGN’s private residence gardens, urban parks, and campus work. She is invested in regenerating our landscapes and gardens through ecology and native planting design. Tess’s leadership and excitement has been integral in the development of Meadowshop, a GGN initiative to promote the beauty and benefits of Pacific Northwest native plants in gardens.

Tess pushes projects forward with strong design clarity and innovative solutions. Creating workplans that foster collaboration, designing planting plans, solving technical problems, and developing construction details are all touchpoints of her work. Her clear communication style and exceptional skill at operations makes her a core member of our firm’s management team. She is integral to the firms staffing and project delivery processes and enjoys mentoring beginning designers and project managers.

Tess also regularly volunteers with youth, horticultural, and gardening events, and she serves on panels and juries for a range of local and national organizations.
